For Chicagoans

For one of my classes the teacher said we can get credit for a paper if we volunteer for a charity called the Tax Assistance Program. I have voluteered the last two saturdays and just this past Tuesday night. I have to say it is a great charity. They provide tax assistance for people who do not make a lot of money. I don't have all the specific's but I know its on their website. My part was a preparer or checker. The preparers enter the information provided into a tax software and then ask some question to figure out what else needs to be done. You really don't need any tax experience. They train you and then there are always people to ask.

I have to say if you live in Chicago and you have some free time on Saturday mornings or Tuesday/Thursday evenings then please sign up to volunteer. To can pick days that work to your schedule. You can sign up at the link below and choose a training date and then any date after that you want to volunteer.

Good for you Dave!!

Though it kind of scares me that you would be helping anybody with their taxes... ;)
